Getting to know Plan it app.

Those you can't read all this please click here for a short version or can direct visit it in istore.

This blog is supposed to be a review of Plan it app, at least that is what I thought. And when I started to type I realised, I have never reviewed an app before and my blogs are not even about reviewing anything. The other realisation was I have seen this app materialise from concept to UMLs, from UMLs to wire frame and then to code and finally a classy beautiful piece of software, or in apple’s tough ‘APP’.

So this write up is dedicated to the journey Plan it app made from papers to phones. The plan it concept had sprouted in our work place before I joined. When I saw it was in papers my colleague was working on its wire frames, well it did sounded like a solid concept.  One day we get a notice that plan it was moved to priority app and its dead line was fixed (don’t ask me why?).

So coders loaded with logic and geared up for coding, and designers stared laying out layouts and balancing the designs. And as of what I did, well I started panicking. Fresh out of University, where I never had to market a product for a living but only had to make sure all references were right and no plagiarism in my essay for learning (scores). I started doing what I could do for Plan it, plan all the ways I could spread the word about it.

Well slowly plan it’s functionality was complete, the working was done. It sure looked functional but nothing like how it looks now, well if I have to compare it to something it would be a caterpillar. Even as a caterpillar it sure was good looking and it was appealing enough for me to buy.

Here is the catch with designs, just when you think it is ultimate or perfect someone comes by and suggests a change which would make its designers think “there is a scope for improvement”. And thus the two screened, productivity iOS app diva, morphed from a caterpillar to a butterfly which is functionally excellent and simple with features like task sharing, automatic sync if you are part of someone’s plan, getting group work done through phone and communication via chat feature like just slide over the plan to chat. That is synonyms for ease and flexibility in app language.

Apps make their journey from it's creator's mind to our phone, Plan it app's journey was not an extraordinary one but that did not make it any less exciting.

Plan it helps in maintaining the task over phone from your grocery list to work project, Plan it dares to bare, all with style of course.

Gmail account follow up

Hi everyone,

Sorry posting a bit late, the news is I got my gmail account back, after an hour or so after I posted my last artical : Cannot access my gmail account"
What I think is, ask your same friends to send mails to your locked account whose e-mail ids you have submitted as most frequently you send mails to.

this is my guess, hope you get your account back too. tc

Cannot Access Gmail account

Day 18th March 2013: I came to office and unlike other day, I thought I will check my mail later that day and continued accessing my office e-mail. At around 11 I tried accessing and it gives me a message that my gmail password is wrong, WHAT! and I tried again but after around 3 times I gave up. And clicked on I forgot my password. After all the detailed questions, of which one was "when you created your gmail account" ! I have had it for long I don't remember my gmail account's BIRTHDAY! for heaven's sake.

After all that they did not return my account because they were not satisfied with my memory of my account, later after I don't know how many attempts they asked for alternating id and phone numbers. I got a message that they would get back to me.

Its day 3 after this incident. Still waiting....

Finally got access to it after 3 days of dread. One tip, ask people to mail you who's email id you have given as an answer to the question that asks whom have you emailed recently.

Soo Human

I am shocked that I am writing this amidst all the heap of work I have, essays due, dissertation waiting like a tsunami to sweep my calm out of my mind. Like my entire world is spinning around deadlines May 1, May 3 and May 4 “The” days.
With all this and the entire day spent in meetings with my professors of how to go about things was creating a chaos in my mind. And with not one but two bags full of books and wrapped up in my coat which my friend call my "Uni Duvet", dragging myself for an all-nighter in library with my perhaps all-time friends books (no other choice) I had just passed my first left from my home. A cat meowed and came running looking at me. Being a person who would run at the sight of any animal stood there as this cat sat resolute in front of me (of course took its own time, you know majestic cat attitude). I gathered all the courage (hoping that it wouldn't pounce on me) said "hey, Kitty" its meowed back at me "meow" and I started walking (dragging) myself again only to see this cat was following me. It followed me to the end of the road keeping up with my pace.
Then it stuck me I had to cross a busy road to get to my uni and this can be risky for my new friend, and this thought consumed me for a moment and I stood there still, when it looked at me and started circling around my legs brushing itself to my boots and enjoying it, with all the courage I touched it once and when I said "Go home kitty, u can't come with me Bye" it sat next to where I stood making way for me to walk my way.
That movement passed but the incident consumed my mind, all it needed was a touch a hug may be in its own way, someone say something nice to it. Perhaps, one lonely soul to another. It made me realize how important it is to feel feelings other than stress, the importance of being there for someone that may even be a stranger. A hug can bust all the stress out and bring a smile.
Thank you Kitty, You taught me something today. Stress talks all the fun out of life, a good gesture of a smile make life more beautiful. So simple and so human. J

Kony Skeptics

Lot of momentum, lot of hush, Globe Rebels against Kony!
An interesting case and cause but  internet is a place where even the best of intentions are questioned.
My thoughts about this movement,

    • Its working! well if a cause that claims to save life is making some progress then why not support it. If a cause claims to make a difference in some hundreds of kids lives, take them out of misery of killing people or being killed which is more likely, then why say Kony should have his say too. Historical referencing, Would you have listened to Hitler if he were given a chance to justify his motives for killing Jews?
    • People who say Invisible children is supporting Army to catch Kony and posing with weapons. Agreed that its an approach with firearms involved, but the point is that there is no point in holding a peace protest in Kony's area and become an easy target practice for those kids with weapons heavier than them. A question... which person on this earth with right mind would join any cause that expects them to do that?
    • The people who say "STOP AT NOTHING" is an aggressive approach. People all across the globe feel comforted when our leaders in election campaign say we will " stop at nothing" to fight against terrorism. Then why say invisible hand is taking an extreme approach.
    • And come on people when our politicians can make a video of their election campaign then why can't this people make a video to bring Kony to lime light?
    • My final point Why do people in Uganda want some other country to add Uganda's problems on their to-do list? (I am still thinking on this, don't really understand)
The above views might look like I am campaigning for Invisible Children, but I am not they are just my views on what I read in internet, and I have tried to rationalised some factors here because its not easy to start a campaign and its even more difficult to give it a global voice.
As I always say criticism is welcomed ;)
